Peder Double Double

Its come to my attention that i officially love Ubiquity Records again. Some of my current favourites are all from the label that got a lot of my acid jazzy juices flowing. Hell if Greyboy wasn't around back in 93, 94 i may well have been knee deep in flannel, shootin' junk and growing bad facial hair.
Peder has some sweet sounds and great guests to mess up the instrumental weirdness.
Stay out of trouble this long weekend.

Summer Kills Itself

Although i'm in my mid 30s, i'm feeling for the kids going back to school. Really they should be put into the work force at a much earlier age. Not quite slave labour but enough to keep them from bitching about trivial teenage bullknuckles.
Love this union strike in Van. Since when did being a garbageman mean making as much money as a school teacher?
"Hey Jimmy, what would you like to be when you grow up?"
Enough ranting! I need some sleep. Along with tonight's super fly hits, i've updated my links for all 3 of my viewers.

Saved The Cheerleader, Now What?

Although these two small promo bits don't give up too much in the way of spoilers, i'm looking forward to some new Heroes episodes and the season one boxset that comes out on Tuesday. Boy do i love the nerdy shit! Anyone a fan?

Manchester Goes Silent

A sad day in music as the man behind Joy Division, New Order and one of my early 90s favs, The Happy Mondays, has passed on to the great dance floor in the sky. Tony Wilson was 57 years young.

Start The Week Off Right

I hope everyone had decent long weekend where ever it may apply. Tried to catch up on reading and sleep the best way i knew how, stayed in bed. Also viewed the new Simpsons movie and was pleasantly surprised. The last few seasons haven't interested me at all. Too many lame guests i guess, not enough Ralph Wiggum.
Tonight i bring you a threesome of somewhat off kilter jazzy goodness...

Can't Have Any Pudding, If You Don't Eat Dert

Not unlike Bullion's mashup of the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds sprinkled with J Dilla, LA producer Dert adds his masterful beat making to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to create something of an engaging mixed bag.
Enjoy!

Lower In The Sky

Great new album by Low In The Sky, We Are All Counting On You, William is a little more Four Tet-esque in its cut and paste approach to acoustic instrumentation than their last album. Super chilled shit as they say. Perfect for when i return home tonight after some beer and recording of my own. Boy howdy!
